Souls Implode

two souls dangle on a cliff
one of them might live
if the other would just let go
but no
self sacrafice, the elusive device
rarely decides to show

nations of souls coexist
in spite of their foes, and themselves
afraid of the difference
they see in the mirror
scared of their shadows
in bitter peace they dwell

drawn by doomed quills
in ink from poison wells
double helix instructions
for humans to repeat themselves
souls will always implode
from their collective gravity
until in the end, when buried in sands
of eternity
