The Quantum Stone

There was a tale, mostly forgotten, about a diamond so dense it acted as a magnet to objects both metallic, and not-mineral in nature, including living tissue.  The stone was so thick that a mere ray of light, however dim, was sucked into it and shot out the other side, as if passing through or bypassing the stone altogether.  Some of the light, upon catching like a filament in the diamonds core, stretches and slingshots the gem backwards through the current of the ray, traveling yet fixed, or fixed but traveling, however you prefer.  If you were to pick the stone up, you might question wether you are carrying the stone, or wether the stone is carrying, or guiding you.  Also it was said that there was a duplicate of the stone in the next reality over, dim, for it was reflection cast into the next reality, playing on the silky silver screen, the fabric sheet of our reality. This other image, dimmer, less dense, was a weaker stone, brittle but real, anchoring our reality to the next.  A film, a fabric, a sheet-perfectly round and flat like a vinyl record, playing clockwise, stacked record upon record, and humming the tune of everything.  Ohm forever...
